Yup! I've been there twice as a dad.....both in August. It's something

we wanted for the kids, and they were pretty fine with the heat (I wasn't) but I just don't understand the overall appeal. It's miserable. Hook an IV up to your wallet and go stand in line for, on average, an hour for every ride. Oh, except for the 3 you were able to reserve a fast pass in advance, so long as you hopped online to book it within 2 hours of your window to make reservations.

And like you, we're not willing to pull the kids out of school and they have activities that happen pretty much year round except for late July and a couple weeks of August.

If you have young kids....take them to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Go to Santa's Village and StoryBook Land. You'll spend 1/4 of what you'll spend at Disney, August will be pleasant and you'll get to go on pretty much as many rides as the kids want. We got to Santa's Village at opening one day and we were able to ride the log flume ride 8 straight times until we just decided we didn't want to anymore. There weren't hundreds waiting to get in at opening and the log ride is at the back of the park, meaning it takes awhile for people to get there. Finished our ride, no one waiting, the attendant said "Would you like to go around again?"
